progressive discoveries…
Working at and around the Lab and the Camp, I often have the opportunity to eavesdrop on other peoples’ conversations. I’m not intentionally trying to be creepy, lurking around in the bushes with a tape recorder or something like that. I’m just minding my own business up on a ladder putting some screws in a new display as people walk by; and I overhear these snippets of dialogue. What prompted my thoughts about this today, was the exclamation of an older lady, “Hey, look! I never noticed that on the top of Patagonia.” I, already knowing what was on the top of Patagonia (Adventure 16 at the Camp), strained my eyes hoping to see a large bird or animal or something unusual on the roof of that store. To my dismay, there was no such creature. This lady was simply pointing out the actual roof of the store. She, and the three others she was with, stood there in the parking lot staring at their new discovery. That discovery being: the roof of the Adventure 16 retail store is a grass roof. It actually has a few types of grasses, it’s more like a meadow up there.
I’ve decided not to post of picture of that store and let you make the discovery on your own.
There are a lot of discoveries to be had at the Camp and the Lab across the street. I’d encourage you to take some time just to walk around next time you’re here. Grab an iced tea from Native Foods or Gypsy Den and just walk around.
And here’s an extra challenge for you: There is an exercise bike at the Lab. Do you know where it is?
